BANZAI!!!!

Konnichiha!

You know I haven't posted in so long I thought I should treat you to a view of one of my entire armies! This is my fleet for the game Dystopian Wars, more specifically the Empire of the Blazing Sun. Dystopian wars is a great little game and with the release of the recent second edition it goes from strength to strength.

More Cygnar

Hello again minions,
Just finished another commission for a friend and thought I'd share it with you internet peeps. I'm really enjoying painting warmachine at the moment. Something about their bold post American civil war on some of this stuff is very cool. You can see that look on Captain Jeremiah Krayewith his flat cap, also am learning new tricks with my camera so the colour is more accurate and balanced, maybe the thing isn't so rubbish after all. Anyways hope you like them and if you want anything painted drop me an email at the usual address and I'll get you a quote!

(Two magnetized one not) I can't wait for the new stuff to come out for Wrath, I am a fluff hobbyist and I am champing at the bit to see what my favourite faction have been up to.

Long Range Killy Death Cygnar Style!

Ok have just finished a commission for a good mate of mine, some Cygnar stuff. Including (Deep Breath) a unit of Rangers, a unit of Gun mages with attendant unit attachment and Gun Mage Captain Adept, two more Long Gunners for his unit to max them out, a Charger and Sentinel Light Warjacks, a Centurion Heavy Jack and finally Lieutenant Allistair Caine Warcaster and gun slinger extroadinaire!

I really enjoyed painting these as I don't often paint blue which is a really nice colour surprisingly easy to paint with a striking contrast to black and white, similar in scheme to my old Tau army I showed previously. The odd thing I have noticed about Privateer Press models is that their faces while more realistic in some ways than Citadels because of that they are much harder to paint. The softer features of a gun mage present odd shading difficulties, whereas a citadel model is a lot more defined often more scarred and obvious. I don't think either things are bad just differant painting styles are needed. Any way onto the pictures! Next time I will show more of my Retribution of Scyrah stuff as I have now nearly finished painting the lot!

Enjoy and love to your mothers!

You were Warned!!

Soo its been nearly 5 months since my last blog entry (ok nearer to 6) but here it is.

I have been playing Retribution of Scyrah in warmachine for a while and have quite a lot of stuff for them. Here are some pictures hope you like them! I went with the studio colour scheme as it was one of the elements that initially attracted me to the Retribution along with their slightly manga esque techy look. I got lucky and got an army that plays well with an interesting focus on synergy.

You can here me talking about them in my podcast that I do with two very good friends Neil and Neil its called Failhammer within which we talk about the world of wargaming its highs its lows and funny squibbly bits so go have a listen at http://failhammer.podbean.com/ or you can listen on itunes and subscribe their! If you do leave us a review and you could very well get a mention on the show!

The Gue'llissara are here!

So its taken me ages to get this sorted out but here are my Human-Tau!
Before we begin a bit of background on these. At the 2006 GT I came up with an idea for a really cool Broadside conversion, the colour scheme based upon my friends trainers (Thanks Dan!). However given my aversion to anything that isn't human I had to come up with a good reason as to why I was collecting a Tau army, so a human-Tau army it was!

SCGT Scenery WIP All going to plan! Yes Yes!

Having to bring some Scenery to SCGT presented something of a challenge to me, do I take ordinry bland scenery like so many will or do I bring a bit of fun?

No brainer really so here is my WIP shots of the scenery to be done before next weekend. This is one project, a Skaven Chemical factory/tower.

New Commission!

Hello there!

Been busy recently what with Uni applications and all that but I have also been doing some more commissions.

Although not finished Here are some WIP pics of an Eldar mainly mechanized army I am doing for a good friend of mine.

I slightly converted the Wraithlord to hold the sword like a samurai (a slight obsession of mine) as I thought it would look cool.

The Sword is also painted as if it had been folded like a Kitana would be, Again because I think it looks cool.

Anyway Thanks for reading I promise that I will try and be more regular but what with being so very busy it will be somewhat intermittent.

Love to your mothers!

Keep your Eyes Shut!

Hello Again! This time I'm showing you the Well of Souls from my Barrow Kings army. Built to represent the Casket of Souls from the army book this is based on the  Arcane Ruins scenery set and some other bits and pieces. The well itself is from the Mines of Moria set (the one that has a noisy piece of rusted armour dropped down it) the spirits are spirit hosts from the Vampire Counts. Once I'd built the rest of the model I glued the spirits to there positions then connected them to the well with milliput carrying on the decayed cloth motif they have on their vestments on their trails. Actually this was quite easy to achieve with the right tools.

Loves Labours Lost

Hello Again.
Just want to show you my wicker man, this was a real labour of love which is why it was a real shame but I had to sell this army recently because of a sudden financial emergency.

But ah well ce la vie, built over an armature the main body of the model is milliput which I then pressed cocktail sticks into to give it the vertical slats. The cage and man are actually from the Giant sprue, I considered trying to find a policeman model but decided that would be very silly. The flames were rolls of green stuff sculpted to the shape desired.

On a Dark and Wintery Evening

Hi there the titan is going to need a few repairs so instead I am going to show you an Undead Werewolf I did for my themed Tomb Kings army.

The Idea for the army is that it is an ancient celtic style army with all sorts of cool undead creatures to stand in for the constructs.

The model is based on a Broodlord with a Dire wolf head the rest of it was sculpted on. I had to refer to anatomical drawings of Humans and Dogs to try and get the right musculature, I used this model as a Tomb Scorpion.

The army got nominated for best Army at Heat 2 of the WFB Grand Tournament. In my next post I'll show you the Burning Wicker Man I did for the army as a Bone Giant.

Hope you like it!
More Pics after the jump.

Another Commission Complete!

Another one for a regular client this time it is the new Space Wolves character Canis Wolfborn. I love this model and painting it was an absolute dream. I used the White Dwarf guide to paint Canis just adapting the techniques to the different model I am particularly proud of the power field effect on the claws instead of doing the effect one the whole of the claws I blended it towards the end of the claws as I surmise that is where the focus of the power would be.

Titan Commission complete!

As promised my next commission, a Chaos Warhound Titan. This took a little while to complete as I was waiting for a gun to arrive. In these pictures the Titan is actually not glued at the waist as the client would like to paint the torso and legs separately, which is entirely fair as I did the same when I painted my own Imperial titan.
The base is actually a cutting board bought for a quid from Wilkos, which is just the right size for a titan and still keeps the round base effect so beloved by 40k fans. Wish I had thought of it when building my own titan.

Hello again, and welcome back!

This is my most recent commission a Forge world Slaanesh Greater Daemon. This is for a regular client of mine called Justin. I apologise for the poor quality of the photos but I was hurried as I had to go out and meet another client for the next job and deliver this one.

I have to say painting this model was an absolute joy! As was the assembly, until I got to the spikes.
These damned things are so irritating Raagh! I am so glad that these things come with spares as it was I was on my knees several times looking for a spike in a shagpile.

Soon I shall have photos up of my next commission, a warhound titan! Just an assembly job but still worth a look. After that I shall put up some photos of some of my own armies.

Thanks for reading see you soon!
